Apple's voice assistant Siri is slated for a major overhaul and will be equipped with new AI features. Originally announced for June 2024, current information suggests that the release could be further delayed.
As Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman learned from insiders, Apple is already internally testing the new Siri version. However, testers report problems with processing requests and the reliability of the new features. In particular, the artificial intelligence-based features, which are intended to give Siri a performance boost, apparently still require further optimization.
Since Apple does not want to release unfinished features, a later release date is being considered. Rumors suggest that the update might not appear until iOS 18.5, which is expected to be released in May 2025.
